6am and still awake.

I had the idea of making this blog to document myself as I grow. To be honest, every minute I spend learning a new concept about cybersecurity, I have doubts. Hearing those big, intimidating terms scares me. I keep thinking: am I actually able to do this? Am I going to make it? This all seems so complicated.

For example, it’s been a few months since I started Hack The Box Academy’s modules: Linux Fundamentals, Introduction to Networking, Web Requests, Windows Fundamentals, Introduction to Active Directory, Introduction to Web Applications. And I usually get that imposter syndrome feeling. Like I don’t belong here.

Hey, I’m Ayoub, a computer science student at Xidian University, currently heading into my junior year. My coursework has covered a wide range of CS fundamentals (networking, computer architecture, data structures and algorithms), but cybersecurity is the direction I’m actually chasing.

Patch Notes is where I document that chase, honestly, and in real time.

I’m not waiting until I’ve “made it” to start writing. Most technical blogs you find online are written by people who already have the answers. This one is different: it’s a running log of what I’m learning, what’s breaking, what’s clicking, and what isn’t.
